About this role

A problem isn’t truly solved until it’s solved for all. That’s why Googlers build products that help create opportunities for everyone, whether down the street or across the globe. As a Technical Program Manager at Google, you’ll use your technical expertise to lead complex, multi-disciplinary projects from start to finish. You’ll work with stakeholders to plan requirements, identify risks, manage project schedules, and communicate clearly with cross-functional partners across the company. You're equally comfortable explaining your team's analyses and recommendations to executives as you are discussing the technical tradeoffs in product development with engineers. Google's mission is to organize the world's information and make it universally accessible and useful. Our Devices & Services team combines the best of Google AI, Software, and Hardware to create radically helpful experiences for users. We research, design, and develop new technologies and hardware to make our user's interaction with computing faster, seamless, and more powerful. Whether finding new ways to capture and sense the world around us, advancing form factors, or improving interaction methods, the Devices & Services team is making people's lives better through technology.

Manage development health and home hardware products and drive the overall execution and strategy of the team. Lead cross-functional teams to meet schedule, system build milestones, cost, quality and manufacturability. Drive product development processes and phase gate reviews with the cross-functional teams. Lead resolution on key technical issues and communication of project status to stakeholders and leadership. Interface between joint development partners and cross functional Engineering and Operation teams.

Minimum qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Engineering or equivalent practical experience in consumer electronics hardware system integration. 5 years of experience in hardware program driving products (e.g., Display, Camera, Speaker, Wearables) from early concepts through EVT/DVT/PVT to mass production. 5 years of experience working on resolution of mechanical and electrical issues, including schematics, layouts, tooling tolerances, and system-level testing. 5 years of experience with OEM/ODM, CM, or JDM environments, managing factory line readiness and building operations. Preferred qualifications: Ability to lead technical teams, cross-functional groups, and vendors. Ability to manage multiple tasks and drive them to completion. Ability to communicate in English and Mandarin fluently in order to interact with internal and external stakeholders. Ability to travel up to 30% of the time internationally.
