As a Staff Engineer, you will lead validation strategy for enterprise SSD firmware and help shape the future of test infrastructure and methodology. You will drive verification of critical NVMe features, champion AI-enabled validation approaches, and provide technical leadership across product lines. This is a highly visible role with opportunities to influence product quality, mentor engineers, and improve engineering efficiency through automation and data-driven insights.

Lead validation strategy and execution for NVMe front-end features across enterprise SSD products Architect and enhance scalable test frameworks to improve automation, coverage, and firmware quality Drive root-cause analysis of complex failures and establish effective debug methodologies and standard processes Define and advance validation infrastructure, including automation, CI/CD integration, regression systems, and reporting tools Mentor engineers and collaborate with multi-functional teams to improve testability, influence design decisions, and communicate technical risks   Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree with 8+ years, Master's degree with 6+ years, or PhD with 4+ years of experience in Computer Science, Data Science, Electrical/Computer Engineering, or a related field Expert-level Python programming skills with experience developing automated test frameworks using libraries such as NumPy, pandas, and Scikit-learn Deep expertise in validation methodologies, test architecture, automation strategy, and verification of firmware or embedded systems Experience applying AI/ML techniques and generative AI tools to engineering, automation, or failure-analysis challenges Demonstrated technical leadership, strong communication skills, and experience mentoring engineers and driving multi-functional initiatives Preferred Qualifications Experience with machine learning frameworks such as TensorFlow or PyTorch and deploying AI/ML solutions in engineering environments Strong understanding of SSD storage technologies, including NVMe, PCIe, OCP, NAND, and firmware architecture Experience integrating AI-enabled workflows into CI/CD pipelines for regression management, diagnostics, or test optimization Proficiency in C or Rust for firmware debugging, along with experience in Linux, Windows, Git, and CI/CD environments Record of technical innovation through patents, publications, open-source contributions, or leadership of major engineering initiatives The US base salary range that Micron Technology estimates it could pay for this full-time position is: $127,000.00 - $215,000.00 a year Additional compensation may include benefits, bonuses and equity. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target base pay for new hire salaries of the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional job-related factors, including knowledge, skills, experience, tenure and relevant education or training.
