The Hartford is seeking a transformative, customer-centric Solution Architect to join the Claims and Operations IT team supporting core financial, billing, and operational platforms as we progress through our modernization agenda. This role will focus on scalable platform architecture, financial workflows, and experience-driven capabilities , delivering value across lines of business. If you’re a passionate technical leader with a continuous learning mindset and motivation to stay on top of the latest trends in emerging technologies such as AI/GenAI, cloud platforms (AWS), APIs, event-driven architectures, microservices/micro frontends, SaaS solutions, and platform engineering , then this position is for you. This is a technical leadership position that allows you to apply your strong application design, development, and excellent communication skills. This position will be responsible for conceptualizing and designing innovative end-to-end software architectures that enable strategic business objectives across transactional financial systems, operational workflows, and digital servicing platforms . You will create end-to-end AI-enabled and digital-first solution designs , including intelligent automation, document processing, and decisioning, spanning across multiple components and technologies in a dynamic, Agile environment. You will also provide technical leadership to project teams as the solution design progresses through implementation into run. Additionally, you will have the opportunity to influence business leaders and shape the business vision by aligning technology strategies with business goals, ensuring that our cloud- and AI-first approach drives impactful outcomes across modernization initiatives. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Leverage AI and Generative AI capabilities to accelerate solution design and engineering productivity , including rapid prototyping, architecture pattern generation, intelligent code assistance, and synthesis of technical insights. Apply these capabilities to enhance product analysis, improve decision-making, and drive faster, higher-quality delivery outcomes. Drive hands-on development of proof-of-concepts (POCs) and reference implementations , generating functional code aligned to defined requirements to validate architecture patterns, de-risk solutions, and provide delivery teams with a clear and practical runway to accelerate execution and scale adoption. Establish and drive clear, effective, and innovative solution designs aligning to The Hartford’s reference architectures, blueprints, and business and IT strategies across core platforms and financial/operational ecosystems , with a focus on AI and strategic thinking. Develop architectural standards and designs for customer-facing and internal servicing capabilities , including digital experiences and operational workflows, incorporating a visionary approach and end-to-end solutioning with a big picture mindset. Align solutions to The Hartford’s reference architectures, blueprints, and business and IT strategies, ensuring they are plug-and-play and leverage APIs, event-driven integrations, reusable services, and platform-based architectures . Ensure alignment with security standards, authentication, authorization, and enterprise compliance requirements, while integrating vendor platforms, SaaS solutions, and AI/ML services into the ecosystem . Provide design supporting the migration of platforms and applications to the cloud, including modernization of legacy systems into cloud-native, containerized, and event-driven architectures , taking advantage of rationalization opportunities to
