Job Description Work Location : HKUST, Clear Water Bay, Hong Kong Contract Period : up to August 2028 subject to review Working: 5.5 days per week Duties: The duties of the Resident Works Supervisor (Building) shall include, but not be limited to, the following: Responsible on site to the Contract Administrator / Project Architect / Project Civil – Structural Engineer / Resident Engineer Provide day-to day supervision of workmanship and progress; Assist in the supervision of contract works including routine inspections, material checks, checking of setting out and leveling by contractors; Assist in the supervision of mixing, placing and curing of concrete; Assist in the supervision of the making of concrete cubes and the cutting of steel bars by the contractors for subsequent testing. Monitor site resources and daily activities. Assist in the recording of labour, materials and plant delivered to site for compilation of site records; Escort the delivery of concrete cubes and other building materials to laboratories for testing as instructed; Keep approval samples in lockable storage and check against the materials delivered to site; Witness all site tests Support documentation of works, measurements and defects; and Carry out all such other duties as directed by the Contract Administrator / Project Architect / Project Civil – Structural Engineer / Resident Engineer. Qualifications The minimum qualifications required for the post of Resident Works Supervisor (Building) shall be as follows: A Certificate in Construction or Building Studies from a Hong Kong polytechnic university/polytechnic, the Hong Kong Institute of Vocational Education or a technical institute/technical college, or equivalent; At least 3 years’ relevant post-qualification experience; Met the language proficiency requirements of Level 2 or above in Chinese Language and English Language in Hong Kong Certificate of Education Examination (HKCEE) / Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Eduction Examination (HKDSEE) or equivalent; Obtained the Certificate of Construction Industry Safety Training Certificate (Green Card); Employment will be on a contract basis. The remuneration package will be commensurate with the candidate’s qualification and experience.
