POSITION
SUMMARY Marathon Petroleum Company LP is seeking a Contracts Analyst to support Marketing Contracts & Compliance, with a primary focus on Direct Dealer Contracts. This role manages the marketing contract lifecycle, including contract initiation, drafting, execution, transfers, and renewals. The Contracts Analyst reviews agreements for accuracy, legal compliance, and policy alignment to support timely completion. The role also partners with Legal, Credit, and Marketing teams to streamline contract review, execution, and distribution ; maintain centralized contract records ; support audits and reporting . This position belongs to a family of jobs with increasing responsibility, competency, and skill level. Actual position title and pay grade will be based on the selected candidate’s experience and qualifications.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Reviews contracts for accuracy, compliance , and alignment with organizational standards; escalates items requiring legal review and engages stakeholders as appropriate Evaluates and mitigates risks associated with contract terms and conditions Recommends contract revisions to align with legal requirements and business objectives Manages the contract lifecycle , including initiation , drafting , execution , and renewal . Reviews, drafts , and fulfills Direct Dealer F inancing requests Maintains an accurate , centralized repository for contract records and documentation Tracks contractual obligations , deadlines , monthly reporting , and adherence requirements Identifies opportunities to reduce risk, improve outcomes, and enhance contract management processes Shares contract-related information with internal and external stakeholders and promotes cross- functional alignment Supports contract audit activities and contributes to best practices in contract management Maintains trusted relationships with key business partners .
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Bachelor’s degree required Four (4) years experience required . Experience in contract development or management, with understanding of contracting processes Excellent communication and collaboration skills Paralegal experience a p referred SKILLS Accountability - Take ownership of actions and behaviors.
