WHO YOU’LL WORK WITH You’ll work closely with our consulting teams and office leadership, partnering with case team leaders, Human Resources and other stakeholders to support staffing, professional development, performance management and integration across the office. You’ll build trusted one-on-one relationships with consultants while collaborating with leadership to balance the needs of our clients, our people and the broader business. WHERE YOU’LL FIT WITHIN THE TEAM You’ll provide leadership and support across key consulting talent programs, including staffing, performance management and integration within the office. In this highly collaborative role, you’ll combine strong program management with thoughtful people leadership. You’ll help consultants navigate their careers, ensure teams have the talent they need, and support processes that contribute to an exceptional employee experience. Success in this role requires strong relationship-building and communication skills, sound judgment, and a thorough understanding of Bain’s policies and procedures. WHAT YOU’LL DO Lead consultant staffing Partner with case team leadership to understand upcoming staffing needs, including the nature of assignments and required team capabilities. Oversee staffing of consulting teams to projects, balancing client, office and individual needs. Partner with leadership and Human Resources to make thoughtful staffing decisions that balance client service, utilization and retention. Monitor case team assignments to help ensure consultants gain exposure to a variety of projects and diverse professional experiences. Support career and professional development Build strong one-on-one relationships with consultants, providing guidance and mentoring on career development. Meet regularly with consultants to understand their development goals, objectives and professional interests. Manage professional development processes for consulting staff. Review case-end and consensus reviews to help ensure consultants receive high-quality feedback and clear development messages. Determine appropriate individual performance ratings or help consensus reviewers align on appropriate ratings for individuals within assigned cohorts. Hold regular class meetings and training sessions, bringing in relevant colleagues to provide timely content that supports consultants throughout their careers. Manage people programs and processes Partner with Human Resources on performance management, employee relations and matters involving employment law, risk and policy. Coordinate with Human Resources on employee transfers and leaves of absence. Support recruiting and interviewing for Associate Consultant and Consultant roles, as needed. Contribute to the development and recommendation of operating policies and process improvements for consulting staff. Partner with Human Resources on key people processes, including upward feedback, ratings, case-end reviews, consensus reviews and CTSU. Maintain data integrity within internal staffing programs. Contribute to broader office priorities Lead or contribute to strategic initiatives and special projects as assigned, which may include efforts related to sustainability, the employee value proposition or other office priorities.
