Box Machine Attnd Labor PR02 2nd Shift/MSC/Full Time/Humboldt Plant, TN

This position is responsible for setting up and operating equipment that makes boxes used in the manufacturing of food products while maintaining a safe work environment and adhering to Tyson policies and procedures. This position pays $17.45/hr Plus an additional $2.00 per hour shift differential. Job Title:  Box Machine Attendant Job Description:   Loads unformed boxes into the box machine; ensures proper feed to the scale packing lines. Job Synopsis:   Grasps a stack of unformed boxes and loads them into the box erector.  Pulls formed boxes off the conveyor and stacks them to the side to build a buffer in the event the box machine experiences downtime.  Places damaged boxes to the side to be collected.  There are two persons stationed at each box machine.  A third person moves among the five slides that convey boxes down to the scale packing lines.  Makes sure the lines are full of boxes.  Also communicates between the scale packers and the box machine attendants the boxes to produce, whether full cases or half. May be responsible for setting up machine and/or breaking down machine. Work Environment •    Processing environment with moving equipment. •    Exposure to noise, moisture and refrigerated conditions. Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) •    Hearing protection. •    Mesh glove and arm guard on non-knife hand. •    Slip-resistant footwear. •    Hairnet and required protective clothing. Safety Responsibilities •    Perform warm-up exercises. •    Maintain awareness of surroundings. •    Store knife in holder before leaving workstation. •    Never reach into operating equipment. •    Follow all Tyson Foods safety policies.
