The Field Service Engineer is responsible for to complete field-based activities to support Cepheid products passionate about improving health care through fast, accurate, molecular diagnostic systems and tests for customers in Malaysia. This will include providing technical support on site, phone, email and remote support to end users. The service responsibilities will also include cross Operating Companies’ products. The successful candidate should have the ability to effectively communicate complex technical failures and methods of resolution to customers as required. They should be capable of handling advanced complaints, troubleshoot independently and possess the ability to work with customers and vendors at both business and technical levels.    This position reports to the Service manager – Diagnostics, Malaysia and is part of the Customer Support located in Malaysia and will be fully remote. In this role, you will have the opportunity to: Support the full range of Cepheid products and deliver installation, maintenance, repair, troubleshooting, technical training, and customer support for hardware, software, and connectivity solutions. Build strong customer relationships by delivering high-quality service, resolving customer issues, providing timely updates, and identifying potential business opportunities through effective customer engagement. Achieve service KPIs by maximizing system performance, minimizing downtime, increasing service contract adoption, maintaining accurate issue tracking, complying with quality management system requirements, and performing additional duties as assigned by management. The essential requirements of the job include: Degree in Computer Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Electronics, or related field, with 5+ years of experience in medical devices or diagnostics. Strong knowledge of hardware, software, networking, connectivity, IT concepts, and service management systems such as SFDC, SAP, or Dynamics 365. Customer-centric professional with strong analytical, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Able to work independently, manage multiple priorities, adapt to change, collaborate across functions, and deliver results under pressure. Willing and able to travel extensively (up to 95%), including overnight travel within the assigned territory. Must possess a valid driver's license and be capable of handling, lifting, and moving service equipment safely as required for field service activities. Travel, Motor Vehicle Record & Physical/Environment Requirements: Available to work 24/7 on evenings, weekends, and holidays, if required.  Must be able to lift 45 lbs (20Kg) place the equipment into a slot within a unit that is 3 feet (1,5m) high.
