The MHE Mechanic will be responsible for inspecting, troubleshooting, repairing, and performing preventative maintenance on a variety of material handling equipment, including electric forklifts, pallet jacks, reach trucks, and propane fueled cleaning equipment. The goal is to maximize equipment uptime and ensure a safe, efficient, and reliable work environment.
Key Responsibilities
Preventative Maintenance (PM): Perform routine maintenance, including lubricating, cleaning, adjusting, and changing filters/fluids on forklifts and pallet jacks to manufacturer guidelines. Diagnostics & Repair: Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic faults in equipment and perform necessary repairs (e.g., motor replacements, brake repairs, hydraulic cylinder repairs). Battery Maintenance: Inspect, maintain, and troubleshoot industrial forklift batteries and charging systems. Documentation: Maintain accurate, timely records of all maintenance work, parts used, and service hours in the Maintenance Management System. Safety & Compliance: Adhere to all safety procedures (Lockout/Tagout), OSHA standards, and company policies to ensure equipment is safe for use. Fabrication & Shop Work: Use power tools, welding apparatus (MIG/Stick), and diagnostic tools to fabricate or repair components.
