Maintenance Mechanic What this job involves: JLL is seeking a Maintenance Mechanic to support our client site in McLean, VA. In this role, you will help maintain a safe, efficient, and well-functioning environment by performing a wide range of building maintenance and repair tasks across the facility. Working alongside the operations team, you will contribute to day-to-day facility performance while supporting an exceptional occupant experience. What your day-to-day will look like: Perform general building maintenance tasks including minor plumbing repairs, basic electrical work, painting, and locksmith duties. Assist the operations team with the maintenance and repair of facility systems, equipment, and office infrastructure. Complete interior maintenance activities such as hanging pictures, installing keyboard trays, and repairing office furniture systems. Respond to tenant service requests and support daily facility operations with professionalism and urgency. Move office furniture, machinery, equipment, and other materials as needed to support workplace operations. Conduct assigned facility inspections and document as-found conditions that may impact building operations or occupant comfort. Respond effectively to building emergencies while recognizing and addressing safety hazards in the workplace. Participate in ongoing technical, operational, and safety training programs as part of JLL’s culture of continuous learning and collaboration.
Required qualifications
Valid state-issued driver’s license. Minimum of 3 years of experience in general building repair and maintenance. Working knowledge of basic plumbing and electrical systems. Ability to lift a minimum of 50 pounds and safely use ladders up to 28 feet. Mechanical aptitude with the ability to troubleshoot and complete routine maintenance tasks. Strong attention to detail and commitment to safe work practices. Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with facility and operations teams. Strong communication and customer service skills in a professional workplace environment.
Preferred qualifications
Completion of an applicable technical or trade training program. Experience supporting commercial office environments or corporate facilities. Familiarity with preventive maintenance practices and facility inspections. Ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment. Demonstrated commitment to teamwork and operational excellence. Experience using maintenance tracking systems or documenting completed work orders.
