We are looking for an Operations Program Manager within the avionics test team who demonstrates bias for action with an ability to get the right things done quickly and effectively. You will work with a team of top-notch engineers and will collaborate with multiple spacecraft design, test, and operations teams. You should be comfortable with a high degree of ambiguity and relish the idea of solving problems that haven't been solved at scale before. Export Control Requirement: Due to applicable export control laws and regulations, candidates must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (i.e., current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum. Key job responsibilities · Drive process improvement development across engineering, manufacturing and operations teams. · Provide regular written and verbal communication to Leadership. · Coordinate information flow across teams in support of engineering, manufacturing and operations. · Drive alignment of processes and initiatives throughout the avionics bus hardware organization. · Bring in and incorporate industry best practices into the Liaison and Test engineering groups. · Work closely with liaison engineers to drive design transfer to from engineering to production, coordinate with production to drive FPY and LPY improvement and other initiatives. · Contribute to development of mechanisms that increase operational efficiency within engineering production. A day in the life In a typical day, a OPM performs a mix of tactical and strategic activities like deep diving to solve complex engineering and manufacturing issues, and Engineering and Operations strategy that supports the development and design transfer of new products.
About the team
Our team designs, tests, and delivers avionics subsystems such as the flight computer, power management and delivery, RF, and sensing subsystems on the satellite bus. Our team designs and delivers the test systems that enable qualifying and acceptance testing these hardware subsystems for the satellite. We take ownership and work hard to deliver the highest quality solutions to support the long-term success of Amazon Leo.
