What You’ll Do As a Senior Maintenance employee, you’ll be part of our Metals Plant team located in Chesterfield, MI. You’ll get to: Disassemble, repair, and reassemble machinery and equipment using manual and power tools, as well as general tool room equipment such as lathes, mills, and grinders; in doing so, climb, kneel, stand, sit, and crouch while handling items of various sizes, shapes, and weights. Troubleshoot equipment issues by reading electrical and hydraulic schematics and using electrical testing equipment. Perform a variety of building, machinery, and equipment repairs, installations, and modifications requiring hydraulic, pneumatic, plumbing, and electrical skills. Maintain departmental files of work orders, maintenance requisitions, preventive maintenance histories, and other related records. Obtain materials and supplies from local distributors, warehouses, or merchants. Place orders for repair parts or materials using the telephone, computer terminal, or written correspondence. Lead and direct other maintenance personnel.

You also have: Approximately three to five years of manufacturing maintenance experience High school diploma, Technical school certificate or equivalent work experience Ability to read and write to follow maintenance requests; understand and follow written and verbal instructions when receiving and processing requisitions, maintain simple records of items repaired, as well as other routine equipment history. Analytical skills necessary to evaluate machine/equipment functions. Ability to concentrate and pay close attention to detail when diagnosing, inspecting, and checking accuracy of repairs. Ability to use electrical testing equipment. Ability to interact with members of management, using strong interpersonal skills. Ability to become authorized in Lockout/Tag out within probationary period. Obtain a Hilo license within the probationary period. Ability to operate Tool Room equipment.
