Overview
This role sits at the intersection of law, operations, and real human impact. As a people leader on the Analytics and Operations (A&O) Team within Microsoft's Corporate, External, and Legal Affairs (CELA), you will build and guide the team that powers the operations behind Employment and Immigration Law (E+I Law), partnering with attorneys, paralegals, and immigration specialists across U.S. Immigration, U.S. Employment Law, Global Employment, and Employment Policy and Compliance to support Microsoft's global workforce. You will set operational strategy, develop and grow a high-performing team of program and operations professionals, and lead the initiatives that support thousands of employees and their families around the world.
Responsibilities
Responsibilities Guide teams to identify, scope, design, and improve compliant programs that support E+I Law and Microsoft's broader business priorities Translate organizational goals and leadership direction, including priorities related to artificial intelligence, security, efficiency, and quality, into clear team priorities, objectives, and measurable outcomes Guide teams overseeing a portfolio of programs and projects, including project plans, RACI frameworks, timelines, milestones, financial management, performance metrics, resource needs, and risk mitigation plans Guide and mentor teams to understand interconnected systems, identify process gaps and inefficiencies, and implement strategies for operational optimization and simplification Coach teams to define success criteria and performance metrics, use scorecards and dashboards, and apply data analytics to monitor program performance, identify risks, and create leadership visibility Guide teams to conduct cost-benefit analyses, drive monthly business reviews, and maintain rhythms that identify what is working, what needs improvement, and when programs should be optimized or retired Guide teams to execute landing and communication plans, maintain the rhythm of business, and demonstrate program value through data-informed storytelling tailored to stakeholders, partners, and customers Lead change management efforts by building sponsorship and organizational buy-in People Leadership As a manager at Microsoft, you deliver success through empowerment and accountability, by modeling, coaching, and caring: Model our culture and values, and practice Microsoft's leadership principles in every interaction. Qualifications
Required Qualifications Bachelor's Degree in Business, Operations, Finance, or related field AND 8+ years experience in program management, process management, or process improvement OR equivalent experience. 6+ years management (e.g., people, project, process, vendor, change) experience. Additional / Preferred Qualifications Master's Degree in Business, Operations, Finance, or related field AND 8+ years experience in program management, process management, or process improvement OR Bachelor's Degree in Business, Operations, Finance, or related field AND 12+ years experience in program management, process management, or process improvement OR equivalent experience. 6+ years people management experience. Experience leading operations in a legal, regulatory compliance, or professional services environment, with strong executive communication skills and proficiency using data, AI, business intelligence, and productivity tools to improve program outcomes. Business Program Management M6 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $130,900 - $277,200 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work
