About this role
Are you passionate about helping government agencies, education institutions, and healthcare organizations accelerate their digital transformation using cloud technologies? Do you enjoy designing secure, compliant, and scalable architectures that address mission-critical workloads? Do you thrive on being a trusted technical advisor who helps public sector customers innovate while meeting rigorous regulatory and sovereignty requirements? AWS Sales, Marketing, and Global Services (SMGS) is responsible for driving revenue, adoption, and growth from the largest and fastest growing small- and mid-market accounts to enterprise-level customers including public sector. We work with leading government agencies, public healthcare systems, and educational institutions that are modernizing citizen services, research platforms, and critical infrastructure on AWS — and we believe that exceptional technical guidance is critical to their success. As a Solutions Architect within Amazon Web Services (AWS), you will have the opportunity to help shape and execute a strategy to build deep engagement and broad adoption of AWS services across public sector customers in Taiwan. You will focus on key themes including Generative AI and Agentic AI (Amazon Bedrock, Amazon Kiro), data sovereignty and compliance, secure cloud adoption, application modernization, disaster recovery and resilience, and citizen/student experience transformation — helping customers leverage the full breadth of the AWS platform to deliver better public outcomes while meeting local regulatory requirements. You will own the technical engagement and ultimate success of specific customer initiatives — from discovery and architecture design through proof-of-concept, implementation, and production launch. You will develop deep expertise in AWS technologies while building broad knowledge of how secure, compliant public sector solutions are architected on AWS, including Well-Architected best practices, migration, modernization, and hybrid/sovereign deployment patterns. A successful candidate will possess strong customer-facing skills to represent AWS effectively with senior government officials, agency CIOs, and technical stakeholders, combined with a technical depth that enables meaningful collaboration with system integrators, software developers, and architects. Experience with AI/ML or generative AI use cases, familiarity with public sector regulatory frameworks (e.g., data residency, information security classifications), and the ability to architect end-to-end solutions spanning data, AI, security, and modern application architectures are highly valued. Key job responsibilities Act as a trusted technical advisor to public sector customers — including government agencies, education institutions, and healthcare organizations — designing secure, compliant cloud architectures that address mission-critical workloads and regulatory requirements. Lead technical discovery and solution design workshops with customer stakeholders (from technical teams to agency CIOs and senior government officials), defining clear objectives, success criteria, and architectural roadmaps. Drive hands-on proof-of-concept builds and architecture reviews, leveraging AWS services across Generative AI (Bedrock, Kiro), data & analytics, security & compliance, and application modernization to accelerate customer outcomes. Navigate complex public sector procurement and compliance landscapes, ensuring proposed solutions align with local regulatory frameworks including data residency, information security classifications, and sovereignty requirements. Collaborate cross-functionally with Account Managers, Specialist SAs, ProServe, and system integrator partners to deliver end-to-end solutions and ensure successful production launches. Develop and share reusable assets, reference architectures, and public sector best practices with the broader SA community — contributing to thought leadership through blogs,
