Job Summary: The Center for Biostatistics in AIDS Research (CBAR), an organization within the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health, is responsible for the design, monitoring and statistical analysis of clinical trials and observational studies for several major national and international NIH-funded clinical research networks. CBAR employs over 100 statisticians, programmers, research scientists, faculty, and staff. CBAR provides statistical analysis for the world's largest network of AIDS Clinical Researchers. Currently this includes infectious disease networks such as: Advancing Clinical Therapeutics Globally for HIV/AIDS and Other Infections (ACTG), the International Maternal Pediatric Adolescent AIDS Clinical Trials Network (IMPAACT), and the Pediatric HIV/AIDS Cohort Study (PHACS). Results from studies have helped to establish the paradigm for the treatment and prevention of HIV and other infectious diseases, and contributed to international treatment and prevention guidelines. CBAR has a hybrid work environment which includes a combination of on-campus/in-person work and remote work Job-Specific Responsibilities: The Center for Biostatistics in AIDS Research (CBAR) is actively recruiting a System Administrator position as part of the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health Infrastructure Team within the Department of Information Technology, providing state of the art computational expertise to the CBAR. The System Administrator will collaborate with other members of the IT Infrastructure Team, maintaining and administering Linux, Windows, and VMware computer environments and related computing networks, including computer hardware, system software, applications software, networking, and all configurations. The System Administrator will plan and conduct comprehensive infrastructure engineering duties. The role will perform expert level build, configuration and maintenance across systems, and implement IT solutions to complex business problems. The System Administrator will provide expert level technical and project leadership, and may manage and be a key contributor on multiple projects simultaneously. The System Administrator will be responsible for proactively planning, coordinating, and implementing system security measures to protect data, software, and hardware. The System Administrator will also be involved in exciting new projects involving the planning and orchestrating disaster recovery, compliance, business continuity, and security solutions for the CBAR computing environment.
