Mechanical Technician Intern

The Mechanical Technician Intern is responsible for gaining exposure to career opportunities within the oil and gas industry. This person discovers SLB's role in the industry and the lifestyle associated with the job. Perform activities as assigned by the Technology Lifecycle Management (TLM) Maintenance Manager, Maintenance Supervisor or Technician. Work under direct supervision of Technicians or Maintenance Supervisors. Support to maintain assigned equipment according to the pertinent maintenance program and compliant with the reliability centered maintenance strategy through adherence to the Computerized Maintenance Management System and standard work. Adhere to transactional discipline within Technology Lifecycle Management (TLM) business systems to record materials and supplies, labor costs and equipment maintenance performance history such as movements, work orders, parts used and time to maintain. Comply with TLM Product Line standards. Participate in the continuous improvement culture, initiatives and improvement plans within the MB to improve asset utilization and cost of service delivery (CoSD). Participate in continuous improvement efforts to improve asset turnaround time, which includes reducing downtime due to maintenance, parts and repair authorization numbers, failures and work-in-process. Support continuous improvement efforts to improve the efficiency and productivity of Maintenance Technicians. Participate in failure investigations if assigned. Comply with the TLM Competency Management System. Follow prescribed internship guidelines for the role. The internship will enable the candidate and SLB to determine if these requirements are met before committing to a full-time job. Near completion or recent graduate of Associate degree or Diploma in Aviation, Industrial, Instrument, Mechanic, Mechanical, Mechatronics, Metallurgy Intermediate proficiency in all Microsoft Office applications especially Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook. Experience in a business work environment (preferred) Experience with basic hydraulics, basic mechanical. Able to read and interpret instructions for assembly, materials, specifications, diagrams, manuals and schematics. Has good problem-solving skills, team player, attention to details, takes initiative and self-motivated to learn.  Good interpersonal skills and able to communicate with various stakeholders SLB offers equal employment opportunity.
