Job Description
AECOM is hosting an exclusive, invitation-only hiring event in New York, New York October 15th and 16th. This is a great opportunity to learn and connect with AECOM for career opportunities starting Spring/Summer 2027. The event kicks off on Thursday evening with a networking mixer from 6-8 pm , where you can hear from AECOM staff about various projects, career paths, and the company itself. You’ll also have the chance to meet other students, recent graduates, and AECOM professionals from across our business lines. On Friday, interviews will take place at our New York office. This is a fantastic opportunity to learn about and connect with AECOM for early career opportunities. AECOM is seeking an Entry-Level Traffic Engineer to be based in New York, New York . This position is expected to begin in Spring/Summer 2027. The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to: Perform analytical tasks including traffic data collection and data manipulation. Perform traffic and capacity analysis on roadway networks. Perform traffic analysis on roadway networks using transportation planning/engineering software (HCS, Synchro, simulation, etc.). Prepare written documentation of NEPA/SEQRA/CEQRA Transportation results in support of client projects. Prepare written reports and presentations of project findings that support moving projects from concept/preliminary alternatives into design, or document operational enhancements. Builds analytic and design skills. Conducts planning analysis and engineering conceptual design under the supervision of an experienced traffic engineer. Creates designs, calculations, sketches, diagrams, schematic drawings, and final working drawings under the supervision of an experienced engineer. Collects and analyzes data under the supervision of an experienced engineer. Uses computer software as a tool for solving basic engineering problems.
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements: Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Transportation Engineering, or a related field or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education. Valid U.S. Driver’s License.
Preferred Qualifications
Master’s Degree in Civil Engineering or Transportation Engineering preferred. FE Certification desired.
