They identify problems, develop solutions and take actions to resolve.     Job Title:  Solar Tech II  Job Code:  J9915  FLSA Status:  Non Exempt - Bargaining Unit      Job Summary The Solar Tech is primarily responsible for providing support to multiple PV plant sites located throughout Duke Energy Florida's service territory on a continual/on-demand basis, in order to troubleshoot/resolve equipment issues such as emergency repairs, design change requirements, and equipment modifications  and to establish O&M support for new plant(s) start-up as well as long term operation and maintenance.    Role will include work scheduling, maintenance, equipment installation, and start-up support.  Position will also be responsible for supporting existing equipment performance and reliability, work to support equipment testing schedules and assigning contracts, technicians, and engineers to appropriate tasks while developing processes to improve O&M output quality.    Responsibilities and Duties Troubleshoot, resolve equipment issues - 30% Design change requirements, and equipment modifications - 15% Scheduling maintenance, installation, and start-up support.  Position will also be responsible for supporting existing equipment performance and reliability - 15% Support equipment testing schedules and assigning contract testers, technicians, and engineers to appropriate tasks while developing processes to improve O&M output quality - 15% Ensures compliance with all operational, environmental and other regulatory and policy compliance requirements.  Monitors station environmental, health and safety objectives and ensures they are met - 10% Provides leadership and accountability in order to achieve desired safety results (Lock Out Tag Out compliance, safety meeting attendance, contractor oversight, safety policies/procedures, work practices, etc.) - 15%     Basic/Required Qualifications • Non-comparative (e.g. three years' experience in a particular position, rather than a comparative requirement such as being one of the top five among the candidates in years of experience) • Objective (e.g. a Bachelor's degree in accounting, but not a technical degree from a “good school”) • Job-related (Relevant to performance of the particular position) You must be able to determine if someone meets the basic / required qualifications for a position by simply reviewing that individual’s application or resume.  Include what a new employee needs to successfully perform the required responsibilities and duties, such as:   Education/Degree - High School, Associate, Bachelor, Master: High School Diploma or GED  Years of prior equivalent work related experience in lieu of a degree NA
