Position
Overview Controller for a number of legal entities with responsibility for local and US GAAP Financial Statements in cooperation with Stat COE and Third-Party service provider. This position will be responsible for companies with a broad scope, including entities in Spain. The position involves contributing to sustainability reporting and will act as a central contact person for all queries, internal and external, for the legal entities for which you will be responsible. As such, communication skills, fluent in Spanish and good in English, are required.
Key Responsibilities
Responsibility for preparation of Local and US GAAP Financial Statements in cooperation with Third Party service providers; owner of Legal Entity Financial Statements for a number of legal entities Certification and sign-off of Actual results Provide input on US GAAP Corporate submissions, where required. Responsibility for Corporate and local Tax compliance for a number of legal entities. Liaise with stakeholders in multiple service lines to ensure all transactions are correctly reported Cooperation with E&Y, IFRS COE, Third Party service providers, tax departments to complete tax and statutory audits Work on team-specific initiatives, including AI based initiatives, to drive productivity. Collaborate with Operating Unit personnel and Corporate Functions on various projects and analysis This role partners and engages proactively with Senior Leadership, Corporate stakeholders, E&Y or other Tax Advisors, and Corporate and Operating Units (OU) clients, as well as strongly collaborates with Finance Hub and other Platform Services peers. Ensure escalation/communication of key issues/opportunities including tax risks, Balance Sheet and Cash Flow risks and opportunities – including recommendations for resolution. Partners with the Global Record to Report Regional Sustainability Reporting Directors to manage the metrics process for their respective legal entities for mandatory statutory reporting in compliance with all sustainability directives and requirements from different regulatory bodies globally (i.e., SEC, CSRD, ISSB, MCD, TCFD, California, etc.). Sustainability requirements typically encompass the enterprise’s and for some jurisdictions its value chain’s material impacts, financial risks and opportunities, strategy, policies, actions, metrics, and targets related to environmental, social, and governance matters as defined by the regulatory standards Role Requirement Strong understanding of USGAAP, IFRS and Spanish accounting standards Primary degree in an accounting or finance related discipline. Qualified member of a recognized accountancy body including: ACA, ACCA, CIMA or CPA. Fluent Spanish and good English skills. At least 7 years experience in financial accounting and reporting environment - multi-national experience preferred.
