The opportunity We are seeking a Senior Manager to join the Financial Accounting Advisory Services (FAAS) practice within Banking and Capital Markets. This role requires a strong combination of banking and asset management domain knowledge, IPOs, Mergers and Acquisitions and internal control of financial reporting as well as technical accounting matters related to the banking and asset management industries. Your key responsibilities
Lead and support Banking and Capital Markets advisory engagements across finance transformation, operating model design, core banking modernisation, digital channels, data, controls and technology-enabled change. Familiarity with due diligence matters as well as transactions experience. Lead and support asset management/private equity advisory engagements across finance, operating model design both as the management company level and at the portfolio company level Strong understanding of fund controllership and fund accounting principles and practices. Work with client stakeholders across business, finance, operations, technology, risk and compliance functions to assess current-state challenges, define target-state requirements and develop practical implementation roadmaps. Translate banking strategy and business requirements into actionable workplans, process designs, capability maps, target operating models, governance structures and implementation deliverables. Support large-scale transformation and implementation programmes, including programme governance, PMO setup, milestone tracking, RAID management, business readiness, change adoption and executive reporting. Contribute to business development activities including proposal development, credentials, scope definition, effort estimation, client presentations and preparation of boardroom-ready materials. Coach and manage junior team members, ensuring high-quality analysis, structured problem solving, strong documentation and timely delivery of client outputs.
Skills and attributes for success
Strong structured problem-solving skills with the ability to break down complex banking issues into clear hypotheses, analyses and recommendations. Excellent stakeholder management skills, with the ability to engage confidently with client teams across business, finance, technology, operations and risk functions. Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to develop executive-level presentations, reports, process documentation and decision-ready materials. Ability to manage multiple workstreams, prioritize tasks, meet deadlines and maintain high-quality delivery standards in a fast-paced consulting environment. Commercial mindset with the ability to identify client needs, support proposal development and contribute to the growth of the FAAS Banking and Capital Markets practice. Experience coaching junior consultants and reviewing deliverables to ensure analytical rigor, traceability and professional quality.
To qualify for the role, you must have.
7-10 years of relevant professional experience, preferably gained within a top-tier consulting firm, Big Four advisory practice, financial services technology advisory firm or a leading banking transformation environment. Strong experience serving asset management and private equity clients. Familiarity with different types of fund structures. Experience with asset management technology platforms. Strong experience serving Banking and Capital Markets clients, with exposure to retail banking, corporate banking, transaction banking, treasury, payments, lending, deposits, cards, trade finance, capital markets or related banking products.
