Job Description
Responsible for specifying and balancing requirements, execution and evaluation of designs, analysis, development, testing and validation of major engineering projects where creativity and initiative are involved. Position also requires the ability to work with independent judgment with only some input from supervisor. The broad scope of responsibilities covers one or more of the following: threaded fasteners, unthreaded fasteners, static seals, dynamic seals, adhesives, TIM and Potting Material. Exercise technical direction and collaboration over other engineers or engineering support personnel to meet specific engineering objectives. Capable of managing projects with high degree of difficulty. Actively engage both internal and supplier teams in issue resolution. Work cohesively with engineering peers responsible for similar components for other applications.
Job Description
Responsibilities include: Lead overall communication, coordination, and consultation with engineering departments and customers Establish designs that meet program performance and timing requirements with compliance to BOM/BOP/BOD and serviceability requirements Balance requirements across systems Analyze designs through design failure modes effects analysis (DFMEA) Plan and implement complex test and/or development programs Demonstrate that designs meet requirements through analysis, development and validation processes Represent business unit in vendor and/or customer contacts Release final designs for manufacturing or purchase as appropriate Conduct incident analysis and ensure problem resolution through PRTS+ system Implement engineering changes as required Participate in cost studies, product suggestions and value analysis Define hardware and budget requirements for experimental build programs Actively participate in product management team and leads product development team(s) as appropriate Support supplier quality assurance process Lead warranty issue resolution Participate in work groups with interactive/interfacing hardware/software teams as required Travel as required, domestic and international Additional Job Description Required Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Engineering required Minimum 2 years of Engineering experience Knowledge of propulsion systems and basic controls Appropriate interpersonal styles and communication methods to work effectively with business partners to meet mutual goals. Knowledge of computer software as it pertains to engineering Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor's in Mechanical Engineering preferred Master’s degree in Engineering is preferred DFSS Green Belt Certification 5 years of Engineering experience Design Release experience in sealing and fastening
