About this role

Scopely is looking for an Accounting Associate to join our expanding Accounting Finance Team in Barcelona, working on a hybrid basis 3 days a week from the hub.

What You Will Do

This role will support the day-to-day operations of the Accounting function while contributing to continuous improvement across all departmental processes.

• Perform monthly bank reconciliations and ensure timely resolution of discrepancies

• Record general ledger entries in compliance with local and group accounting policies

• Assist with the month-end close and general ledger reconciliations, ensuring accuracy and timely reporting

• Post and reconcile intercompany transactions

• Maintain the fixed assets register, including asset postings and monthly depreciation

• Collaborate with the Accounts Payable team on reconciliations and discrepancy resolution

• Provide support during external and internal audits

• Partner with cross-functional teams to support business units with financial and accounting insights

• Contribute to process improvement and automation initiatives

What We're Looking For

• 5+ years of experience in general accounting

• Prior experience in international environments, preferably across multiple entities

• Strong English communication skills, both written and verbal

• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other MS Office tools

• Highly analytical, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple priorities

• Demonstrated experience recording and maintaining accruals, prepaid expenses, and reclassification entries

• Experience performing flux analysis, including identifying, investigating, and explaining significant period-over-period variances

• A team-oriented mindset with a focus on shared goals

• Experience working with ERP systems

Bonus Points

• Experience with Oracle ERP

• Experience working within a shared service center or centralized accounting function

• Experience in a technology or similarly dynamic, multi-entity environment
