The Opportunity
This position works out of our Columbus, OH locations in the Nutrition Division . Abbott is seeking an experienced, innovative, and strategically minded Team Manager, Acute Care Contracting to join our Columbus, Ohio office. Reporting to the Senior Manager, Acute Care Contracting, this individual serves as a trusted business partner to Sales and collaborates cross-functionally with Legal, Finance, Marketing, and other key stakeholders.
The Team
Manager is responsible for leading a team of contract analysts and driving contract strategy, pricing recommendations, customer negotiations, and operational excellence across a portfolio of institutional customers. This role combines people leadership, financial analysis, contract management, and strategic business partnership to optimize profitability while supporting customer growth objectives. The ideal candidate is a strong leader who can balance analytical rigor and commercial acumen, influence stakeholders at all levels, and develop high-performing team members. WHAT YOU’LL DO Key Responsibilities Contract Strategy, Negotiation & Management Lead negotiation and execution of customer contracts with hospitals, health systems, Integrated Delivery Networks (IDNs), and Group Purchasing Organizations (GPOs). Evaluate pricing requests and contract terms within established authority levels while securing appropriate approvals for exceptions. Partner with Sales to develop creative and competitive contract solutions that align customer needs with Abbott's business objectives. Ensure compliance with contractual obligations, policies, legal requirements, and internal governance standards. Identify and implement best practices to improve contracting processes, operational efficiency, and risk mitigation. Review, analyze, and respond to customer Requests for Proposal (RFPs), Requests for Information (RFIs), and other commercial opportunities. Leadership & Team Development Lead, coach, and develop a team of contract analysts, fostering a culture of accountability, engagement, continuous improvement, and customer focus.
