Position Summary The Butcher Block Supervisor is responsible for assisting with the daily operation of the full-service butcher block, ensuring exceptional customer service, high-quality meat products, and adherence to food safety standards. This role provides leadership to department associates, supports merchandising and inventory management efforts, and helps drive sales and profitability through product knowledge, customer engagement, and operational excellence. Key Responsibilities Department Operations
Oversee daily activities within the butcher block service area. Ensure meat products are properly cut, trimmed, packaged, and displayed according to company standards. Maintain department cleanliness, organization, and presentation. Monitor service counters and product availability to meet customer demand. Support execution of merchandising plans, promotions, and seasonal offerings. Customer Service
Deliver exceptional customer service and create a personalized shopping experience. Assist customers with product selection, custom cutting requests, and cooking recommendations. Address customer concerns professionally and promptly. Promote sales through product knowledge and suggestive selling techniques. Build customer loyalty through outstanding service and expertise. Leadership & Associate Development
Provide direction, coaching, and support to department associates. Assist with training associates on product knowledge, food safety, and customer service standards. Promote teamwork and accountability within the department. Support scheduling and workflow management to maintain productivity and service levels. Inventory & Financial Performance
Assist with inventory controls, ordering, and replenishment activities. Monitor shrink, waste, and product freshness. Help achieve department sales and profitability goals. Maintain appropriate stock levels to maximize sales opportunities while minimizing losses. Food Safety & Compliance
Ensure strict compliance with food safety, sanitation, and health regulations. Monitor proper storage, handling, labeling, and rotation of products. Follow all company safety policies and operational procedures. Assist with inspections, audits, and corrective action plans as needed. Merchandising & Product Quality
Maintain attractive and fully stocked displays. Ensure all products meet quality and freshness standards. Monitor expiration dates and product rotation. Support implementation of promotional and seasonal displays.
