About this role
Are you ready to own end-to-end procurement operations at one of Amazon's Fulfillment Centers (FCs) in Melbourne, VIC? As a Site Procurement Specialist, you will manage the site's indirect procurement function, driving cost savings and process improvements that directly support our operations teams. From forecasting and inventory management to vendor performance and spend analysis, you will play a critical role in keeping the FC running efficiently. You will partner with the Victorian Regional Procurement Manager and the site leadership team to identify improvement areas, benchmark procurement processes, and implement best practices across the network. This role offers the chance to build deep expertise in procurement operations using tools such as Microsoft Excel, Coupa, and Amazon's internal systems, while collaborating with stakeholders across the building and beyond. It is a strong foundation for growth into senior procurement roles within Amazon's Global Procurement Organization. Key job responsibilities - Partner with the Victorian Regional Procurement Manager to deliver procurement operations support for the FC, including forecasting of non-inventory products, inventory management, space and flow planning, cycle counts, and supplier coordination - Lead a team of non-inventory receivers, ensuring the building has the resources and processes needed to operate effectively - Manage key performance indicators to measure, control, and benchmark procurement processes, creating recurring metrics reports that drive network-wide improvements - Analyze spend data to track actual versus planned savings, develop action plans when trends deviate, and identify opportunities for cost reduction - Build relationships across the site and the broader network to share best practices and collaborate with vendors on solutions that support operations A day in the life A day in the life No two days are the same in this role. You could be reviewing inventory levels and open purchase orders in Coupa, coordinating with your team of non-inventory receivers on floor requirements, or meeting with vendors to resolve delivery or quality issues. You will regularly analyse spend data and update KPI dashboards to prepare insights for the Victorian Regional Procurement Manager, while checking in with operations leaders on demand changes. You will also join network calls to align on procurement standards and share what is working at your site.

Our Fulfillment Center procurement team is responsible for ensuring that every non-inventory item needed to run the building — from packaging materials to equipment — is available when and where it is needed. We work closely with operations, finance, and external suppliers to keep costs in check while maintaining high service levels.
