Job Summary This position is responsible for encoding terms reported as adverse events and medical history as well as prior and concomitant medications using industry accepted dictionaries such as MedDRA and WHOdrug. Summary of the Essential Functions of the Job  Coding performed in accordance with departmental coding conventions and company SOPs.  The coder will generate queries for clarification of potentially discrepant data. Ability to work in cross-functional team-oriented environments. Assist with data coding consistency   reviews and SAE reconciliation, as needed.  The Coder will collaborate with medical monitors, Clinical and Data Management team members, as required, to ensure the timely processing of coding, according to project timelines. The coder should have working knowledge of coding tools (ie. Medidata RAVE Coder, TMS, Veeva, etc.)  Assist in interdepartmental training of new staff as needed. Minimum Requirements  Bachelors degree or related health science background.  Commensurate experience will be considered in lieu of a 4 year degree.  2+ years industry experience in pharmacovigilance, clinical research, and/or clinical data management required.  Experience with MedDRA and WHODD  preferred.  Working knowledge of  medical terminology, clinical trials & coding is essential.  Excellent written and oral skills and demonstrated ability to work both independently and within cross functional teams. Strong attention to detail and a commitment to high quality work" At  Syneos Health, we believe in providing an environment and culture in which Our People can thrive, develop and advance.
