About this role

Seattle Public Utilities (SPU) has an exciting temporary opportunity for a professional to serve as a Temporary or Out-of-Class (OOC) Trees for Neighborhoods Volunteer Program Manager (P&D Spec, Sr-BU) to help the City address the equity, climate change, and public health impacts of the urban forest.

Trees for Neighborhoods helps residents plant, grow, care for, and celebrate Seattle’s trees—empowering all of us to keep our urban forest thriving.

In this position, you will help create volunteer opportunities for residents to care for trees and natural areas on sites that can strengthen public land and our connections to it. You will engage closely with the public and organizational partners. This work will involve creating communications materials and managing contracts to operate programs and facilities that support a healthy Seattle urban forest. This Temp or OOC position is Part-Time .8 FTE and is expected to last between 6-8 months in duration. This opportunity is open to all qualified candidates. External candidates are [initially] non-benefited and will receive premium pay in lieu of benefits.
