Your Opportunity Our Edmonton and Calgary offices are looking for a Junior Accountant to join the US Corporate Tax team and own the following responsibilities: Prepares US tax returns for business entities, corporations and partnerships. Involved in US tax research for compliance and consulting engagements. Communication with Internal Revenue Service, as well as State tax authorities Collaborating with tax teams across the firm to build relationships and gain specialized expertise for client engagements. Engage in training staff and invest in the professional development of your team. Build positive working relationships with clients and provide effective support for engagements. How do we define success for your role? You will understand the industries BDO services and contribute to the group's advancement. You will ensure work is complete, accurate and appropriately reviewed by maintaining the necessary technical knowledge and professional development. You will recommend and implement quality or efficiency improvements to our engagements. You will actively engage in communication with people leaders to ensure understanding of performance and development, while identifying and attracting top talent. You will support our firm's revenue growth by referring clients to other services lines and new clients to BDO. Your experience and education You are in pursuit of your Canadian or US CPA designation. You have 1+ years' experience in public accounting with exposure to US Tax. You are motivated to gain expertise in US Tax. You value teamwork, client service, and quality in detailed work. You display strong problem solving, analytical, and communication skills. Why BDO?
