Job Description

Due to ongoing growth, we are looking for a Principal (or Associate Director) level Hydraulic Engineer to join our diverse Building Engineering team. This role can be based in Brisbane or Sydney. Act as the Hydraulics Lead on a range of projects, working closely with multi-disciplinary engineering teams and providing technical guidance to junior engineers. Lead the delivery of hydraulic designs and calculations, including technical reviews and sign-off, while delegating tasks and supporting the development of other engineers. Work directly with clients and project stakeholders to understand project requirements, key drivers and constraints, providing practical and cost-effective hydraulic solutions. Support the wider national Hydraulics team across a variety of projects and sectors, working alongside experienced engineers and contributing to the delivery of complex building projects. Deliver a broad range of hydraulic design services, including rainwater harvesting, sanitary plumbing and drainage, trade waste, potable and non-potable water reticulation, hot and warm water systems, energy-efficient and solar hot water systems, specialist water systems such as reverse osmosis and demineralised water, and water-efficient design.

Qualifications

The following qualifications and experience are highly desired, but if you don’t tick all the boxes, you could still be a perfect fit for this role. Please apply, all applications will be considered. The qualities that help you thrive: Ideally, 10+ years’ experience in hydraulic engineering, within a consulting environment, with a strong understanding of Australian Standards, codes and industry requirements. Relevant engineering degree or TAFE qualification, with RPEQ/RPEV registration or the ability to obtain it. Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to build relationships and communicate effectively with clients, project teams and stakeholders at all levels. Strong working knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite, with experience using relevant industry software. Revit experience is preferred but not essential. Australian Citizenship, or being on the pathway to Australian Citizenship, is highly preferred due to the requirements of some of our projects.
