The Opportunity
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Electrical Design Engineer to join the Global Solutions Engineering Group at Caterpillar (N.I.) Ltd in Larne. As part of the Caterpillar Electric Power engineering team, you will play a key role in developing and delivering customer-specific power solutions for a global market. Working within a highly skilled and collaborative environment, you will lead electrical design activities across new product development, engineering change implementation, manufacturing support, and product improvement initiatives. You'll be responsible for delivering innovative, high-quality solutions that meet customer requirements for performance, cost, durability, quality, and serviceability. This role offers the opportunity to take ownership of complex engineering projects, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and influence the ongoing success of Caterpillar's Electric Power business. What You Will Do
Interpretation of consultant drawings & specifications. Review new projects with respect to commercial and design implications. Prepare submittal documentation for projects and meet with customers to discuss project requirements and review submittals. Design of controls and protection for generators, motors and related equipment. Selection and specification of components and services. Creation of build of materials. Provide technical support to Manufacturing and Sales Departments. Provide direction to other Engineers in the development of project drawings. Review and approve project drawings.
