As a Quality Engineer I at Medtronic, you will champion our commitment to continuous improvement and operational excellence by proactively identifying opportunities for innovation across our processes and systems. Embedded within the Airways DC Quality support team, you’ll deliver dedicated support to daily logistics operations, driving best-in-class results through standardization, simplification, and a relentless pursuit of quality. In this role, you’ll focus on detecting gaps and issues, providing actionable solutions, and ensuring full compliance with Medtronic’s rigorous Quality procedures and governing regulations—all while embodying our Mission to alleviate pain, restore health, and extend life. This role is located at the Central Airways DC, Memphis, TN site and is onsite 5 days per week. Travel is not required for this role.
Primary Responsibilities
Develop, modify, apply and maintain quality standards and protocol for processing materials into partially finished or finished materials product. Collaborate with engineering, operational excellence, and distribution functions to ensure quality standards are in place. Devise and implement methods and procedures for distribution processes and supporting inspections and rework projects. Design or specify inspection and testing mechanisms and equipment; conduct quality assurance tests; and perform statistical analysis to assess the cost of and determine the responsibility for products or materials that do not meet required standards and specifications. Ensure that corrective measures meet acceptable reliability standards and that documentation is compliant with requirements. May specialize in the areas of design, incoming material, production control, product evaluation and reliability, continuous improvement projects, inventory control and/or research and development as they apply to product or process quality.
Required Qualifications

Preferred Qualifications
Master’s degree in mechanical, electrical or biomedical engineering Experience in Operations or Quality in a distribution environment Ability to formulate strategies, tactics and action plans to achieve results Strong focus on developing an organizational culture that fosters teamwork Ability to effectively influence key decision makers Ability to work well under pressure and maintain positive, enthusiastic attitude For Baccalaureate degrees earned outside of the United States, a degree that satisfies the requirements of 8 C.F.R. § 214.2(h)(4)(iii)(A) is required.
