Subsidiary Steel Dynamics Overview Finishing Mill Shift Mechanical Technician Responsibilities
Rotating shift work including nights and weekends. Welding, cutting and fabrication Maintain all mechanical systems related to the rolling process Troubleshoot and repair of high-pressure hydraulic systems Rigging, crane and mobile equipment operation Read and interpret blueprints and piping diagrams Work with operations and maintenance groups to ensure continued production Work wtih computer-based maintenance systems
Qualifications
Safety oriented High School diploma or equivalent Prior mechanical maintenance experience in some or all of the following areas: welding & fabrication, industrial hydraulics, pneumatics, manual & automatic lubrication systems, water systems, pipe fittings, rigging, bearing & coupling replacement, ability to read prints & schematics Strong willingness to learn Understanding of mathematics (geometry, trigonometry) Willingness to work scheduled and non-scheduled overtime Strong teamwork focus Ability to work without direct supervision Ability to multi-task & prioritize work assisgnments with production needs At least 2 years of Mechanical Maintenance experience
