The Technology Apprentice Program is a full-time, 16-week immersive experience designed to cultivate future technical talent in the software engineering and application development space.​Through real-world projects, collaborative engagement, and guided development, apprentices will grow their skills, build lasting connections, and confidently launch their careers in technology. What You’ll Do Participate in a comprehensive onboarding experience to equip you with the knowledge, connections, and technical skills needed to thrive within The Cigna Group's technology function. Grow your career through development workshops, trainings, and continued education options Engage and grow within the technology function through hands-on experience solving real-world challenges, deepening your technical skills. Work alongside experienced software and/or application developers to build, test, and maintain applications while developing core technical and professional skills. Engage with peers, mentors, and cross-functional partners through collaborative initiatives.

We’re looking for curious, collaborative, and forward-thinking individuals who are eager to grow as technologists and make a meaningful impact across The Cigna Group’s diverse technology landscape. We prefer that candidates meet one or more of the following educational requirements : Completion of an Associate’s degree in software development, computer science, or a related technology field Graduation from a technical bootcamp focused on full-stack development, front-end/back-end engineering, or app development Completion of a recognized technical certification from a recognized technical organization/institution (e.g., AWS, Microsoft, Oracle) with hands-on experience applying those skills in real-world projects Ideal candidates will also bring the following technical competencies and abilities: Proficiency in one or more of the following programming languages: Java, JavaScript, .NET, Kotlin, Typescript, C#, Python, Go  Familiarity with the software development lifecycle, version control systems (Git) and basic debugging techniques  Basic understanding of programming concepts (variables, loops, functions) Familiarity with web development fundamentals (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) Experience with agile methodologies, team-based development, or open-source contributions is a plus. Collaboration and relationship building in diverse teams Additional Program Information: Location:  This is a Hybrid position out of St. Louis, MO.  A Hybrid position means that you will be expected to work in-person for at least 3 days (Tuesday, Wednesday & a 3rd day of choice) at your assigned office location, with flexibility to work at home for a balance of time. Schedule: You must be available to work a 40-hour work week beginning October 26, 2026. Working hours are Monday – Friday.
