The Logistics Team Lead supports mail order, specialty pharmacy, and customer logistics operations by coordinating courier activity, resolving pickup and delivery issues, and serving as a key contact for customer support centers, store inquiries, carrier partners, and internal teams. This role helps ensure timely service, accurate communication, SOP compliance, and effective problem resolution across mail, specialty, logistics, pharmacy, and production support areas. What You’ll Do (Responsibilities) Serve as the primary logistics point of contact for customer mail support, specialty managed care, store inquiries, and mail or specialty business issues. Track and monitor national and local courier activity, including pickups, deliveries, shipping concerns, escalations, and service issue resolution. Manage day-to-day carrier relationships with FedEx, UPS, UPSMI, USPS, and Yzer to support timely and reliable logistics service. Communicate professionally with customers, supervisors, peers, managers, and cross-functional teams to address questions, resolve concerns, and provide operational updates. Support logistics compliance by following policies, procedures, SOPs, safety expectations, confidentiality standards, and McKesson Shared Principles. Lead logistics continuous improvement efforts, develop new SOPs, support peer mentoring, and identify training opportunities as needed. Support pharmacy, production, mail, and other lead areas when coverage is needed, including backup support for the Mail Team Lead. Coordinate logistics support activities, including return-to-sender packaging supplies, Hazmat material collection and pickup, production supplies/components, monthly expense reports, shipping charge reports, and other assigned duties.
Basic Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent. Minimum education and typical experience, or equivalent combination, Experience in logistics, mail operations, pharmacy operations, courier coordination, shipping, distribution, warehouse operations, customer support, or a closely related operational environment. Working knowledge of logistics processes, mail processes, carrier pickups and deliveries, SOPs, customer issue resolution, and operational communication. Good PC skills, including the ability to use computer systems to research issues, review carrier information, complete reports, and communicate updates. Strong verbal, written, interpersonal, customer service, problem-solving, and attention-to-detail skills. Preferred Skills/Experience Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel. Experience with GlobalShip or carrier shipping applications. Experience working with FedEx, UPS, UPSMI, USPS, Yzer, or other logistics value chains. Ability to download, review, and interpret reports from carrier systems. Prior peer training, mentoring, team lead, coordinator, or continuous improvement project experience. Positive attitude, strong ownership, and ability to work independently with minimal direct supervision while solving complex logistics issues quickly. Description of Travel or In-Office and Physical Requirements This role is primarily onsite and supports both office and production areas in a temperature-controlled facility. The standard schedule is Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.; schedule may change based on business needs. The position may require
