Primary Function The Materials LCS CIC is a strategic leader within the Materials Team responsible for championing and executing Logistics and Customer Service (LCS) initiatives across the organization. This role owns the successful delivery of LCS-driven transformation projects whilst driving continuous improvement in material flow optimization and cost reduction. The Successful candidate will coordinate cross-functionally with Work Organization (WO), Safety, and other plant continuous improvement leaders to embed World Class Manufacturing (WCM) methodology throughout the materials operations. This position demands ownership of project outcomes, accountability for measurable results aligned to departmental savings targets, and commitment to elevating the technical and operational competency of the team through structured coaching and knowledge transfer. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES & ACCOUNTABILITIES Own end-to-end delivery of assigned LCS improvement projects, ensuring alignment with departmental savings objectives and timely completion of key milestones. Lead and execute Lean/LCS initiatives including but not limited to: non-value-added activity (NVAA) reduction, Operations and Transportation separation, material flow optimization, and inventory management improvement Plan and manage improvement projects using advanced FI Tools including Yamazumi analysis, Time Studies, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Value Stream Operating Procedures (VSOP), One-Point Lessons (OPLs), Route Maps, and facilitated Kaizen events. Mentor and coach hourly team members on WCM and LCS methodology, building organizational capability for sustained continuous improvement. Utilize advanced project management and problem-solving tools to support New Product Introduction (NPI), Finished Goods Management (FGM), Work Organization (WO), and LCS initiatives. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Advanced knowledge of World Class Manufacturing (WCM) principles and proven application across multiple improvement initiatives Deep expertise in Logistics and Customer Service (LCS) methodology, including mastery of Steps 0 through 7 Demonstrated proficiency in Lean tools and techniques with a track record of sustainable improvement delivery Strong foundation in continuous improvement culture, with ability to embed kaizen mindset across teams Proven project management capability with experience delivering complex, cross-functional initiatives on time and within budget Expert-level competency in Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCA) and problem-solving methodologies Mastery of 5S workplace organization principles and Advanced PDCA (Plan-Do-Check-Act) cycle facilitation and coaching TOOLS, EQUIPMENT & SYSTEMS Software: Google Workspace (Sheets, Docs, Slides), Smartsheets, AutoCAD (Basic Level), SAP, Manufacturing Execution System (MES), Plan For Every Part (PFEP), Picklist, Material Bill of Materials (MBOM) Training & Licensing Requirements: Forklifts, tuggers, Automated Guided Vehicles (AGVs), pallet jacks, dock locks, hand trucks, dollies, scanners/tablets, telemetry systems, measuring instruments Material Handled: Raw materials, production parts and supplies, semi-finished and finished goods, packaging containers and
