Northrop Grumman Defense Systems is seeking a Principal/ Sr. Principal Electrical Engineer in support of the Sentinel AVE System Engineering & Integration (SE&I) Team. This position is located: Manhattan Beach, CA . What You’ll Get To D o The selected candidate will report to the AVE SE&I Director and lead a team of electrical engineers for the development and oversight of the multi-billion-dollar AVE Segment's electrical aspects. Which include technical and programmatic directions to create and integrate system wiring diagrams, layouts, and roadmaps across elements; oversee signal-quality analysis to deliver engineering products for the Sentinel missile; lead power allocation management, end-to-end power analysis, and power control. The lead is responsible for the successful delivery of the team’s products on time while adhering to Northrop Grumman’s quality-first standard. Additionally, the selected candidate will provide support and help to foster engineers’ career development Additional responsibilities include: Provide organizational, programmatic, and technical guidance for engineering leadership and management of AVE scope of work Driving on-time delivery of AVE electrical designs and products (system wiring diagrams/drawings/models/layouts/roadmaps and analysis) to support program timelines/milestones Ensure the organization is properly staffed, equipped, and trained to meet current and future program requirements. Perform earned value management to track schedule, budgets, plans, and report status as a Control Account Manager (CAM) Ensure leadership and key subject matter expert succession plans are in place and be proactive by coaching and mentoring key talent to be able to assume increased responsibilities. Drive a culture of quality through adherence to command media, standards, and best practices Supporting a comprehensive risk and opportunity management program Manage multiple program priorities on engineering deliverables Brief program status, risks, and technical challenges to consulting engineers, director, and vice president level leaders. Establish and maintain collaborative working relationships with other organizations, including other disciplines in Systems Engineering & Integration. Including: Requirements and Verification, Interfaces and Architecture, Specialty Engineering and Modeling & Simulation.
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) with at least 5 years of related experience with bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related technical discipline; or 3 years of relevant experience with a master’s degree; or 1 years of relevant experience with a PhD Position can be filled one level higher - Bachelor’s Degree in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) with at least 8 years of related experience with bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related technical discipline; or 6 years of relevant experience with a master’s degree; or 4 years of relevant experience with a PhD Must
