Job Description
As a Systems Engineer / Presales Engineer within HPE Networking , you will be responsible for the technical success of networking opportunities across an assigned customer portfolio, with a particular focus on the Manufacturing and Retail sectors . You will develop a strong understanding of your customers’ business priorities, technology environments, and industry-specific challenges. Based on this understanding, you will provide relevant technical guidance and help establish HPE as a trusted, long-term strategic technology partner.
Key Responsibilities
Customer Engagement and Trusted Advisory Act as the primary technical advisor for an assigned portfolio of customers and opportunities. Build trusted relationships with customer technical decision-makers, architects, engineers, operational teams, IT management, and executive stakeholders. Understand customers’ business priorities, operational requirements, existing network environments, technical challenges, and future architecture plans. Provide technical guidance aligned with customer business objectives, digital transformation initiatives, and evolving networking needs. Proactively identify technical opportunities and contribute to long-term account and technology strategies. Sales Alignment and Opportunity Development Work closely with the aligned sales organization to develop account strategies, qualify opportunities, shape customer requirements, and drive successful engagements. Provide technical leadership throughout the sales cycle, from discovery and solution design through validation and closure. Address technical objections, identify and mitigate risks, and help increase the probability of successful deal closure. Manage multiple strategic customer engagements while maintaining close alignment with sales and a strong focus on customer success. Solution Architecture and Design Design end-to-end enterprise networking solutions covering: Wired and wireless networking Campus and data center networking Routing, resiliency, and segmentation Network management, operations, and security Related connectivity solutions Translate customer requirements into scalable, resilient, secure, and operationally efficient architectures. Position networking solutions in the context of Manufacturing and Retail use cases and broader business objectives. Select and size appropriate products, software platforms, licenses, and solution components. Presentations and Technical Validation Present HPE Networking technologies, architectures, and value propositions to technical and executive audiences. Conduct technical discovery sessions, workshops, solution presentations, demonstrations, architecture discussions, and whiteboarding sessions. Plan and execute Proof-of-Concept, Proof-of-Value, interoperability testing, and other technical validation activities where required. Clearly communicate technical findings, risks, outcomes, and recommendations. RFP, RFI, and RFQ Leadership Provide technical leadership for RFP, RFI, and RFQ responses.
