Position
Summary The Engineering team is seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineer to support product design and development, manufacturing engineering projects (equipment design), and daily sustaining activities. The Mechanical Engineer will perform design, testing, documentation, troubleshooting, and production support activities with limited supervision. This position will take ownership of assigned engineering tasks and projects, work cross-functionally with manufacturing, quality, operations, and other departments, and help deliver business-critical projects on schedule and within requirements. The Mechanical Engineer: Will independently solve challenging technical problems and develop practical, innovative solutions that meet performance, cost, quality, and schedule requirements. Will be responsible for assigned activities throughout the product life cycle, including requirements analysis, concept definition, prototyping, testing, detailed design, release, and production support. Will interface directly with other departments within the organization, identify technical and project issues, and communicate risks, recommendations, and required actions. Will collaborate with project managers, engineers, manufacturing, quality, and operations personnel to execute projects and resolve day-to-day sustaining issues. The ideal candidate is a detail-oriented, self-motivated engineer who can manage multiple priorities, exercise sound technical judgment, and communicate effectively across the organization.
Primary Responsibilities
Develop and implement creative, technically sound solutions to moderately complex engineering problems. Create and maintain detailed design models, layouts, assemblies, and engineering drawings while meeting project schedules and design requirements. Develop drawings, specifications, calculations, and supporting documentation for components, tooling, equipment, and systems. Plan and perform hands-on assembly, testing, evaluation, and troubleshooting of prototype and production designs. Review engineering drawings and technical documentation for adherence to company specifications and standards, and serve as a technical checker or peer reviewer when appropriate. Prepare and maintain technical documentation, including ECO/ECNs, BOMs, test plans/reports, specifications, work instructions, and non-conformance documentation. Provide direct engineering support to manufacturing, including troubleshooting, root-cause investigation, process improvements, tooling/fixture support, and product assembly as required. Participate effectively in design reviews and cross-functional teams. Lead smaller engineering projects or defined work packages, including planning tasks, coordinating resources, tracking progress, and communicating status. Support root-cause investigations and corrective actions for product, process, and manufacturing issues. Identify opportunities to improve product performance, manufacturability, reliability, cost, safety, and engineering processes. Job Requirements B.S. Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing
