Your Impact
As an Information Security Engineer, you will design, implement, automate, and operate security capabilities that protect the company's data and infrastructure. This role is exciting because you will work with modern technologies to solve complex enterprise-scale challenges, influence the protection of our customers and intellectual property, and help security become an enabler of business innovation. You will contribute by engineering security controls that scale across thousands of users, improving the detection and prevention of data ex-filtration, and reducing operational risk through automation.
Key Responsibilities
Build, deploy, and maintain components of enterprise data security processes, tools, and services across on-premises, cloud, and hybrid environments. Support the rollout and monitoring of DLP solutions and DSPM platforms across endpoints and cloud/SaaS environments. Develop and maintain playbooks, SOPs, and automation scripts (Python/PowerShell) to streamline compliance and security operations. Partner with IT and security architects to ensure adherence to frameworks such as NIST CSF. Participate in data security assessments, partner with data compliance and investigation teams to reduce data loss risk and drive continuous improvement of the enterprise security posture.
Minimum Qualifications
3+ years of experience in information security or a related technical field in large, sophisticated enterprise environments. Practical knowledge of data protection technologies such as DLP and DSPM platforms. Proficiency in scripting (e.g., Python or PowerShell) and exposure to cloud environments (AWS, Azure, or GCP). Familiarity with Microsoft security solutions (e.g., Purview, Defender for Endpoint) and the NIST Cybersecurity Framework (CSF). Proven ability to collaborate multi-functionally with IT and security architects to deploy and operationalize enterprise data protection controls and policies Preferred Qualifications Experience working with enterprise-scale data protection and security architecture. Interest or experience in AI/ML applications for security automation and threat detection. Strong communication and influencing skills to collaborate effectively with IT and security teams. Relevant certifications (e.g., CISSP, Security+, SANS AI). Desire to grow toward security architect roles and engage in cross-functional security initiatives. S&TO Why Cisco?
