An exciting opportunity exists within the Component Engineering department to lead the design and development of high-pressure common rail fuel systems on the next generation of engine platforms.  As part of a small, friendly team, you will collaborate with a global team of engineers, suppliers and production facilities, shaping solutions from concept to production that achieve world-class levels of performance, quality and reliability   Additional Info Opportunity for Business Travel for up 10% of working time. This position is 5 days in the office role based in Peterborough, UK   What You Will Do Lead the specification and development of new high-pressure common rail fuel systems to meet New Product Introduction (NPI) Requirements. Collaborate with fuel system technology suppliers to align on functional performance requirements and to develop system solutions. Plan and deliver fuel system/component development projects to time, cost and quality requirements. Assess technical risk through FMEA; define and coordinate simulation and validation activities (DVP&R). Investigate and resolve complex technical system issues using 8D methodology. Lead cross-functional design reviews with manufacturing, quality and purchasing teams to deliver a production worthy fuel system design. Assess fuel system performance via engine and / or rig bench testing.    What You Have Technical Excellence: Knowledge of High-Pressure Common Rail Diesel Fuel Injection Systems and associated components; ability to develop and provide solutions to significant technical challenges. Effective Communications: Understanding of effective communication concepts, tools and techniques; ability to effectively transmit, receive, and accurately interpret ideas, information, and needs through the application of appropriate communication behaviors.
