Job Title Sr Quality Engineer About your role: We’re looking for a software test engineer or software developer passionate about test engineering and ensuring software quality for complex web applications. You will build the automation and tooling that provides fast, trustworthy quality signals for a complex distributed web-based product. As a member of the product development team, you’ll own end-to-end test strategy for critical user journeys, integrate execution into CI, and deliver clear, standardized reports to diagnose issues quickly and ship with confidence. What you’ll do: Design, build, and maintain a scalable end-to-end automation regression suite spanning APIs, orchestrated microservices, and distributed backend services composed of business logic, security, validation, versioning, performance tests, etc. Utilize established test frameworks, libraries, and tools like Postman, Newman, Insomnia, Jest, Charles Proxy, Playwright. Integrate automated tests into CI/CD processes (pre-merge validation, post-merge execution). Include environment readiness checks and test data management, as needed. Continuously improve testing accuracy and reliability. Own test signal quality: reduce flakes and nondeterminism, improve runtime, and tune suites for high signal-to-noise. Generate and publish test outcomes as standardized test reports (e.g., JUnit-style results, trend views) that provide actionable feedback to the product development team. Investigate failures across services and infrastructure; distinguish product defects from test/environment issues and drive root-cause analysis. Partner with Software Engineering, SRE/DevOps, Security, and Product to define software quality reports, quality gates, release criteria, and automation standards. Contribute to engineering excellence through the published documentation of test plans, scripts and results. Advise the product development team on best practices for testing, test frameworks, techniques and processes that promote quality practices across the product lifecycle. Responsibilities listed are not intended to be all-inclusive and may be modified as necessary. Experience you’ll need to have: Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering or related field. 5+ years of professional experience working on or with a software engineering team. 3+ years of experience building and maintaining automated tests for web applications and distributed systems. Experience with end-to-end and API test automation frameworks (e.g., Playwright, Jest, TestNG) and test design patterns. Hands-on knowledge of integrating automated tests into CI/CD systems (e.g., GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, Jenkins, GitLab CI) using Git-based workflows. Deep theoretical and practical knowledge of HTTP/HTTPS protocols, including the TLS/SSL handshake, certificate management, status codes, headers. Proficiency in writing queries to validate data persistence across relational databases such as Oracle, with the knowledge of SQL. Expert knowledge of JSON payloads, including hands-on experience enforcing data contract integrity via JSON Schema validation within automated test suites. Understanding of SDLC, Shift-Left Quality Engineering, TDD, DDT practices, with proven experience integrating automated API testing into CI/CD pipelines and driving quality throughout the software development lifecycle. Strong troubleshooting and root-cause analysis skills across services, logs, and
