Ashland has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Project Engineer to join our Ashland Specialty Ingredients business at our Calvert City, KY location. This is a very visible, significant role within the Company and the Manufacturing function. This position will report to the Engineering Manager. T he responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to, the following : Project Management: Manage 7+ concurrent capital projects valued up to $1MM, overseeing scope, budget, schedule, and execution from concept through startup. Planning and Feasibility: Analyze operational issues, develop project scopes, estimate costs, and evaluate feasibility to support sound investment decisions. Capital Authorization and Procurement: Prepare Authority for Expenditures, write contractor bid packages, and issue material requisitions. Vendor and Contractor Oversight: Manage outside engineering services and supervise construction activities to ensure work is completed safely, efficiently, and to specification. Budget and Schedule Control: Monitor project costs and timelines to achieve budget targets and meet project milestones. Operations and Startup Support: Lead projects across processing operations and plant infrastructure, assisting with startups and handoffs to operations teams. Standards and Code Compliance: Apply corporate and plant standards, along with applicable engineering codes, to the design of equipment and systems. In order to be qualified for this role, you must possess the following: BS in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering. 10+ years in Project Engineering or Project Construction in an industrial environment. Effective verbal and written communication skills. Demonstrated responsible and ethical behavior at all times.
