Grow with us About this opportunity: We are looking for an all-rounded disciplined, organised, personable, flexible, motivated and commercially minded Legal Counsel to join our Market Area Southeast Asia, Oceania and India (“MOAI”) Legal Team, based in Kuala Lumpur. This role will be responsible for (i) customer transaction legal support for Southeast Asia (SEA) with a special focus on Malaysia, Thailand, Indonesia, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka, (ii) regional general legal support for SEA; (ii) Corporate Governance work for the legal entities in SEA and (iii) will also serve as the primary legal point of contact for Sourcing matters in SEA. The role is suited to a mid-level legal counsel who is comfortable operating with a high degree of independence, managing a broad and diverse workload and juggling conflicting priorities across multiple jurisdictions. The successful candidate will work closely with internal business stakeholders including Key Account Management, Contract Management, Sourcing, Financial Control, Compliance and business leaders to deliver pragmatic, high-quality legal support in a fast-paced and dynamic telecommunications environment. Join our Team What you will do: Customer Transaction Legal Support Assist in reviewing, drafting and negotiating customer contracts with telecommunications operators across SEA and providing clear, practical and commercial legal support. Identifying legal risks, compliance issues, and potential liabilities while ensuring all terms protect organizational interests. Handling customer disputes and legal claims related to transactions, coordinating with internal departments and external counsel to reach resolution through negotiation, mediation, or escalation procedures. General Legal Support Work collaboratively with the broader MOAI Legal Team and Group Function Legal Affairs to ensure consistent and coordinated legal support across the region. Contribute to the development and implementation of global/regional initiatives, legal processes, frameworks, and best practices within the MOAI Legal Team. Engage proactively with business stakeholders to build trusted partnerships and provide commercially sound legal advice. Provide legal advice and support on privacy matters and regulatory compliance across SEA. Contributing to training (e.g. sourcing/legal awareness) and knowledge sharing across MOAI Corporate Governance Support corporate reorganisations, restructurings and entity rationalisation initiatives across SEA, including assessing legal entity structures, governance frameworks and regulatory requirements to ensure entities remain appropriately established, compliant and aligned with business objectives. Independently manage, lead and provide legal support on corporate secretarial and governance matters, including drafting, reviewing and managing the filing of corporate documents such as board meetings and circular resolutions for Ericsson legal entities across SEA, including Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia, the Philippines, Vietnam, Thailand, Sri Lanka, Brunei and Bangladesh. Advisor to the SEA local counsel on statutory compliance, director duties, board resolutions, and regulatory filings in relevant jurisdictions ensuring the entities operate in full compliance with these frameworks. Support internal governance processes, including compliance with Ericsson's Code of Business Ethics (COBE) and related internal policies. Being the primary interface to external corporate secretaries, Financial Control and local counsel as required across SEA markets to ensure statutory compliance and adherence. Maintain corporate records in line with Ericsson requirements. Collaborate with broader MOAI and Group Function Legal teams on complex governance, regulatory or director-related issues as appropriate.
