Job Description
The Note Sale Manager leads the planning, execution, governance, and continuous improvement of commercial loan sale and assignment activities across U.S. Bank's Special Assets Group. This role serves as the primary liaison between business lines, relationship managers, Legal, Loan Operations, external investors, and other stakeholders to facilitate the successful disposition of performing and non-performing commercial assets. The position is responsible for managing note sale transactions, developing and maintaining procedures and controls, providing consultation services to business lines, overseeing reporting and data integrity, and driving process enhancements that improve efficiency, compliance, and risk management. The Note Sale Manager operates as a subject matter expert and trusted advisor for commercial credit sales across the enterprise. As a secondary function (<25%), the Note Sale Manager will also assist the Special Assets Group’s team of Portfolio Managers (PMs). Portfolio Managers are responsible for underwriting activities and preparing reports for distressed commercial credit relationships while supporting the Bank's risk management, workout, and loss mitigation objectives. The role serves as the primary operational and analytical lead partnering closely with Relationship Managers, Credit Officers, Legal, Loan Operations, and senior leadership to develop and execute strategies that maximize recovery, minimize losses, and support risk management. Basic Qualifications - Bachelor's degree, or equivalent work experience - Typically more than 10 years of applicable experience Preferred Skills/Experience - Experience in commercial banking, loan workouts, special assets, or loan sale activities - Advanced understanding of commercial credit structures, loan documentation, collateral, and assignment processes - Strong leadership and management skills - Effective written and verbal communication skills - Proficient computer skills, especially Microsoft Office applications - Thorough knowledge of Risk/Compliance/Audit competencies - Strong analytical, problem-solving and negotiation skills This role requires working from a U.S. Bank location three (3) or more days per week.
