Responsibilities
As a Skilled Laborer on our Long Haul Travel Crew, you will support aerial and underground telecom construction projects nationwide, on all phases of utility construction for various types of projects. You believe in doing the job right. Being the best. And you're up for the challenge. In addition, you will: Put safety first, following all company, OSHA, and job-site requirements and using proper PPE. Travel to telecom construction projects throughout the U.S., typically for 4–5 weeks at a time. Perform hands-on construction work, including digging, trenching, site preparation, material handling, and cleanup. Assist with aerial and underground telecom construction, including conduit and fiber installation and fiber blowing. Operate and assist with trucks, trailers, and construction equipment as trained and certified. Learn to safely use hand tools, power tools, and telecom equipment such as bucket trucks, line trucks, and cable reels. Assist with basic troubleshooting and repair of RF and fiber systems. Learn to read construction prints, maps, and design plans. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe job site and perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
About You: Safety is a part of your day-to-day You have a track record of completing work with a high level of quality At least 1-2 years of experience working outdoors, preferably in a utilities/construction environment Must be physically able and willing to lift up to 50 lbs. consistently and independently Must have a current and valid CDL class A or B with a clean driving record the past 3 years. You have a knack for figuring out hard problems and enjoy getting your hands dirty with your team You are looking for long-term projects and growth opportunities You want to learn the telecom construction trade to advance your career, like Coax Splicing, Fiber Splicing, Directional Drilling, etc. Travel Details: · Per Diem 7 days a week – rain or shine, while on project. · Schedule is roughly 4-5 weeks on project, 5 days off, on a rotating schedule. · 50-60 hours per week, overtime applies after 40 hours per week.
