Learn more at https://www.jnj.com/medtech Job Summary The Material and Contract Manager is a motivated subject matter expert who implements and oversees the organization’s materials management and vendor agreements. This role executes comprehensive supply-chain and contract lifecycle tasks, leads cost reduction and supplier risk mitigation efforts, facilitates cross-functional material initiatives and contract integration, and provides process optimization expertise. This role builds strong relationships with internal stakeholders to identify and address material needs and coaches junior colleagues on contract techniques and best practices. The role integrates Johnson & Johnson’s Credo and Leadership Imperatives into team goals and decision making.
Key Responsibilities
Implement and execute the organization’s material & contract plan, from contract management through cost reduction strategy implementation. Develop provisional category strategies leveraging market intelligence, demand management, sustainability considerations, supplier diversity, and total cost of ownership metrics. Execute material strategies aimed at reducing cost, optimizing production processes, and mitigating supplier risks. Facilitate coordination of cross-functional material initiatives and supplier integration plans, ensuring alignment across stakeholders. Coordinate external vendor reviews to ensure suppliers meet contracted obligations and service-level commitments. Create and maintain open communication channels with internal and external suppliers to ensure timely resolution of issues and minimal impact on production schedules. Advise internal customers on significant market conditions changes that could impact project costs or production schedules. Act as a top-level specialist and subject matter expert on material & contract initiatives. Provide coaching and on-the-job training to junior colleagues in material techniques, processes, and responsibilities. Identify process improvement opportunities and recommend optimizations to material & contract workflows. Integrate Johnson & Johnson’s Credo and Leadership Imperatives into decision-making, supplier selection, and team objectives. Required Qualifications
