Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems has an opening for a Staff Engineer Electronics – Mission Integration to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position can be located in San Diego, CA or Melbourne, FL . The selected engineer will lead an interdisciplinary team on key efforts to develop novel Electronic Warfare subsystems on developmental NGAS programs. The successful engineer will contribute to the overall development of HW/SW subsystems, including developing functional architectures, analyzing performance, developing and managing requirements and interfaces, and verifying/validating all allocated requirements. You will lead a team to design, develop, build, and test EW components, equipment, systems, and networks in conjunction with key suppliers. This position may require travel up to 10%. Will be responsible for one or more of the following: Technical management of program strategic partners and suppliers, including development, acquisition, acceptance, qualification, system integration, and test support Lead and support technical discussions with the customer and having daily interaction with management, external personnel, customers, and various sub teams Guiding the team through development/implementation activities. Requirements development, analysis, maturation, and implementation, translating customer requirements into hardware and software specifications Performing risk analysis, developing mitigation plans, and tracking to closure Collaborate with engineers and program stakeholders to integrate avionics and mission subsystems to meet platform mission objectives Develop supplier documentation such as procurement specifications, and statements of work, and review artifacts from the supplier’s development effort Document designs using detailed schematics, diagrams, and specifications Support development and integration of HW/SW subsystems and components to meet platform mission objectives Develop integrated HW/SW integration and test approaches across NGAS programs. Performing functional and performance analyses Conducting detailed trade studies Perform analyses and estimate performance of components, subsystems, and systems in accordance with governmental and commercial standards. Configure, test, document and troubleshoot avionics and mission systems Basic Qualifications: Must have a Bachelor’s degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline from an accredited university AND 12 years of related professional/military experience in Engineering; OR a Master’s degree in a STEM discipline from an accredited university AND 10 years of related professional/military experience in Engineering; or a Ph.D. AND 8 years of related professional/military experience in Engineering Experience with Electronic Warfare, Electronic Support, and multifunction subsystems Experience in decomposing, deriving, allocating and tracing requirements from system to component level Experience with developing supplier documentation, performance-based
