Consultant, Project Management - Financial Services

This role is part of the Business Consulting department - a partner to Nationwide Financial’s Finance and Financial Operations organizations. The team serves as a centralized intake and coordination point for projects, helping business areas evaluate requests, develop estimates, align budgets and resources, and guide work from initiation through completion.

Participate in the project process for high-profile, Tier 1 efforts by identifying complexities, dependencies and potential gaps or duplication as well as impact to FBS (FinOps). Communicate process impacts, decisions, risks, dependencies and performance results to customers, management and external sources as appropriate. Build effective relationships across business and technology teams and influence outcomes without direct authority. Evaluate shifting priorities and evolving business requirements while coordinating work and priorities across projects running simultaneously. Serve as a process-management contributor and consultant between business customers and systems areas for the development and implementation of business processes and procedures. Maintain an end-to-end vantage point on business delivery during every project stage, including post-implementation. Identify cross-project impacts, risks, dependencies and opportunities for sequencing or integration, and escalate issues when appropriate. Additional qualifications preferred: Proven experience in financial operations or NF line of business particularly in impact management or project work. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, and applying new technology to meet business needs. Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams. Key Responsibilities: Partners with senior leaders to transform their businesses through the strategic application of people, processes and technology. Participates in the planning process by identifying complexities, dependencies and duplications. Demonstrates expertise in leading business process analysis/design, organizational analysis, needs assessments and cost/benefit analysis to align solutions with business strategies and direction.
