The Head of Retail is responsible for directly leading and managing the Retail team. This role will set and deliver annual sales, expenditure, share, availability, visibility & communication targets for the Grocery, Mass Merchant and Discount Channel. This person will develop strategic priorities and manage initiatives to ensure ongoing business growth across all identified Key Accounts in each channel. This role holds key channel ownership, accountability, and responsibility for the delivery of agreed annual business plan targets. Additionally, this role is also responsible for the training, development and mentoring of five National Account & Business Managers.
Job Description
ACHIEVEMENT OF KEY RESULTS AND DELIVERABLES Achieve annual budgeting and forecasting targets Develop and deliver the annual Business Plan and agreed targets and assignments set Agree strategic priorities that define the present and the future of brand activation, category sales and distribution Establish strong relationships with key stakeholders (internal and external) Set and measure distribution, ranging, visibility and perfect store targets for responsible channels Develop and implement pricing and promotion strategies TEAM LEADERSHIP Lead and manage the Retail Key Account Team Stay up to date with market intelligence, know what is going on in the field and channel (finger on the pulse)! To be regarded as a leading and highly respected manager within Red Bull, with continued pursuit of motivating people to exceptional performance Ensures agreed service levels at National, State and customer levels are always met COLLABORATION Drive a strong working relationship with internal and third-party Field and Category teams Build strong collaboration across our key departments: Marketing, Finance, Operations Implement continuous improvement plans Implement ‘best practice’ initiatives, setting the example at a national level Qualifications 6-8 years' sales management experience within the Australian FMCG market Strong experience in FMCG Retail channel is essential Advanced negotiation capabilities, with a proven record of terms negotiations Strong technical sales skills: analysis, insights, category management, and forecasting FMCG field management experience is essential A commitment to people management and development with a proven ability to build and develop talent Additional Information Thank you recruitment agencies, we will be recruiting this role internally.
