Job Title: Spec, Manufacturing Engineer Job Code: 38727 Job Location: Clifton, NJ Job Schedule: 9/80: Employees work 9 out of every 14 days – totaling 80 hours worked – and have every other Friday off Job Description: Develops, implements and analyzes manufacturing engineering plans and projects and communicates them to internal and external customers. Defines, develops and transfers manufacturing and engineering tools, strategies and systems. Develops manufacturing strategies for specific products and processes. Actively participates with engineering project teams in order to coordinate the release of new products. Estimates and tracks manufacturing costs, determines time standards, and makes recommendations for tooling and process requirements of new or existing product lines. Maintains records and reporting systems for coordination of manufacturing operations. The candidate will perform a variety of engineering work in the development, improvement, and optimization of multiple processes and techniques, including circuit card assembly, standard module assembly, and electro-mechanical final assembly. The work will include improving and optimizing current processes, implementing new tooling, improving existing tooling, and creating robust technical documentation on existing processes and tooling. Essential Functions: Implementing manufacturing standard work and best practices to improve operational metrics Translate drawing requirements into detailed work instructions for the assembly, integration, and testing of complex end-products Work with existing and legacy equipment Control and improve existing processes Perform failure analysis and risk mitigation Complete technical writing and training related tasks Coordinate with maintenance group for equipment upkeep and training Ability to obtain a US security clearance Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 4 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 8 years of prior related experience. Preferred Additional Skills: Strong problem-solving and data analysis skills Electrical, Mechanical, or Industrial Engineering background preferred Experience with legacy tooling, code, and equipment Robust project management and technical writing skills Ability to communicate project status and risks to leadership team Expertise in making data driven decisions to improve and develop processes Experience using DFM, Six-Sigma and/or Lean Manufacturing Principles Experience using DMAIC process and associated tools In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role in New Jersey area is $84,000.00 - $156,000.00.
